Introduction
The global economic environment is rapidly changing, significantly affecting the corporate
structures and the way business is conducted.  Indian corporate world continues to
adapt itself to the fast changing domestic and global environment.  In such a scenario
which is characterised by fierce competition at domestic and international level, freer and
faster information flow, as also greater awareness level of the investors, creditors and
other stakeholders of a company, Indian companies are faced with the formidable task of
fulfilling newer obligations and aspirations of various stakeholders.  The role and
responsibilities of the management of the companies have come under greater scrutiny.

The Corporate Affairs Committee and the Capital Market Committee of the Chamber are
specialised Committees that our actively engaged in offering services to members on
various issues, including legal aspects affecting companies.

Services
To analyze the developments in the corporate world and Capital Market in the
backdrop of changing economic environment and suggest alternatives.

 
 
To study the relevant laws governing the corporates, examine their suitability and
efficacy with the passage of time and suggest modifications, wherever required.

To interact and closely liaise with the Government and regulatory bodies on
issues of mutual concern, know and inform the industry of the Government's
thinking on important aspects and also present the industry's viewpoint on policy
and procedural issues.

To emphasize the importance and need to adopt ethical practices and good
corporate governance among the corporate members of the Chamber.

To organise interactive / informatory events on issues of topical interest and
concern to companies.   The events organised in the recent past cover wide
ranging issues such as Companies (Amendment) Bill, Directors’ Liability, Corporate
Governance Dynamics of Audit, Listing Agreement and Role of Independent
Directors, SEBI Regulations governing Takeovers, Buyback, Delisting, Insider
Trading, emerging issues in Derivatives trading, Role of Mutual Funds etc.

To interact with the regulatory bodies and market participants and give
constructive suggestions for a sound, healthy and transparent capital market and
protection of investors.

To disseminate information on the policy and procedural developments /
announcements by the Government to industry.
