The Tourism & Civil Aviation Committee functions as the voice of the tourism and civil aviation sectors. It has been taking up the problems of airlines, tour operators, transporters and hotels encompassing large number of issues such as, infrastructure, taxation, marketing, human resource development, developing destinations and tourist products of the States. Teh Committee has been suggesting strategies to the State Governments for effectively marketing the tourism potential aimed at both domestic & foreign tourists.The Committee has been creating awareness about the economic relevance of tourism for generation of economic growth, employment and foreign exchange, suggesting strategies for maximising the tourism potential in the States being served by the Chamber and coordinating the efforts for tourism development with other departments such as transport, railways, finance and urban development. The Committee has also been suggesting strategies for an efficient civil aviation industry in the country which can support tourism development, promoting civil aviation development in States for developing regional air traffic.
The Committee has also been effectively taking up the problems of Tourist transporters with the various State governments.
