Activities

PHDCCI Infrastructure Committee has been endeavouring to facilitate the development of physical infrastructure through public-private partnership as also inter-state cooperation, particularly in the ten States and one Union Territory serviced by the Chamber. The Committee works in close cooperation with several ministries in the Central Government such as Ministry of Road Transport & Highway, Ministry of Urban Development, State Governments and also autonomous bodies like NHAI, HUDCO, IDFC, IL&FS; World Bank, ADB, etc.

-Focus on challenges and investment opportunities in various sectors.

- Suggest strategies for development of infrastructure.

- Promote public private cooperation in infrastructure development.

- Play a catalytic role in facilitating multi-state infrastructure projects.

To organise programmes in order to focus on critical issues pertaining to future investments in various infrastructure projects like roads, railways, urban infrastructure - housing, water & sanitation, etc.

To provide a forum for interaction among prospective investors in infrastructure projects, the financiers of these projects, the policy makers - Central, State and local Governments, developers, consultants, and other authorities responsible for the development of infrastructure. Programmes focus on : the policy framework for private investments, strategy for accelerating development of bankable infrastructure projects, challenges of financing these projects and sharing of experiences of the developers.

To provide opportunity for capacity building through sharing of international experiences in infrastructure development including public-private cooperation in infrastructure development

To make representations to Central and State Governments, regulators, parliamentarian etc. on the subjects of importance to the Committee members.
