Introduction
The industrial Relation Scenario in the country is changing very fast largely due to landmark Judgements deleivered by various High Courts and Supreme Court apart from legislative enactments. Thus to maintain harmonious relations and to handle industrial Relations problems, the industrial Relation Committee of the Chamber offers sound, comprehensive and practical service to the member in the field of Industrial Relations and Labour Laws.

Description
  1. To identify the areas of difficulties in implementing various Labour laws and Industrial Policies of the Central and State Governments and to formulate Employer's views on the same, inter-act with the Central and State Governments for redressal of the same.
  2. Formulate Employers' views on various proposals for amendments in the Central and State legislations and the rules framed thereunder.
  3. Maintain liaison with the Apex Organizations dealing with the industrial Relations viz. EFI and AIOE.
  4. Disseminate the members about the latest developments in the field of industrial Relations and Labour Laws by circulating relevant details.
  5. Circulate regular information regarding various Consumer Price Indices complied by Labour Bureau and Economic & Statistical Organisations of Central and State Governments.
  6. Providing expert services to the member-comoanies on special fee basis such as Consultation in Industrial Relations, Personnel and Labour Laws related matter:
      • Condusting cases on behalf of the member-companies before the Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals and other authorities appointed under various Labour Laws.
      • Drafting Standing Orders, Services Rules and Settlement with Unions for memebr-companies.
  7. Publish monthly Journal " Summaries of Labour Judgements" containing gist of about 20 important judgements delivered by Supreme Court and Various High Courts.
  8. Organise Seminars/ Workshops and Training Programmes on matters of topical interest (on an average one programme every month in Delhi or in States in our Regions).

 

Achievements

 
  1. In the last one year, we have provided two most important representation in the Central Board of Trustees, EFP Organization and the Employees' State Insurance Corporation by Central Government.
  2. The Government of India has nominated PHDCCI as Nodal Agency for the States of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, NCT of Delhi and Chandigarh for receiving applications for the Prime Minister's Shram Awards.
  3. Delegation meeting with Dr. P. D.Shenoy, secretary, Ministry of labour, Government of India on 28 November 2003.
  4. Introductory meeting with Shri Sis Ram Ola, Union Minister for Labour & Employment on 28 May 2004.
  5. Seminar on "Legal Aspects of Engaging Contract Labour - Obligations of Principal Employer under various Labour Laws" on 26 September 2003 at Shimla.
  6. Two Day Workshop on " Improving Enterprise Competitiveness" on 27-28 November 2003 at New Delhi.
  7. Interactive Session on "Emerging Industrial Relations Scenario in the Wake of Globalization" on 29 December 2003 at New Delhi.
  8. Seminar on " Legal Aspects of Engaging Contract Labour - Obligations of Principal Employer and under various Labour Laws" on 17 January 2004 at Bhilai.
  9. Seminar on " Indiscipline in Industry - Causes and Remidies" on 21 Feburary 2004 at New Delhi.
  10. Seminar on " Harmonious Industrial Relations and Resolutions of Disputes" on 19 April 2004 at Ludhiana.
  11. Seminar to discuss the provisions of Contract Labour Act and Industrial Disputes Act on 25 June at Baddi, HP.
  12. Brainstorming Session on Job Reservation in Private Sector on 17 July 2004 at New DElhi.
  13. Interactive Session with Shri Digvijay Singh, General Secretary, All India Congress Committee on " Job Reservation in Private Sector" on 6 August 2004 at New Delhi.
