Introduction
PHDCCI took the initiative of constituting a Business Practices committee in 1995. To commemorate the 90th year of PHDCCI’s establishment and services to the business community, the Chamber adopted the motto `Ethics is Good Business’ in 1995. The Chamber has also been propagating its role as `In community’s life and part of it’. The Chamber formulated a Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics was printed in a pocket size booklet format and extensively distributed among members, constituents and affiliates of the Chamber.

The mandate for the Committee is broadly enumerated as follows:

  • To promote awareness and encourage healthy and ethical business practices.

  • To focus on the need for fair play and ethics in the emerging business environment.

  • To create consciousness of the business community's role towards society.

  • To create consciousness about corporate social responsibility.

  • To recognise Indian business, entrepreneurs and individuals for their outstanding achievements / contributions in selected areas and to promote corporate and individual initiatives in economic, social, educational and cultural areas through PHDDCI Annual Awards for Excellence.
